Artist Rupali Roy is the name of a phenomenal creative entity. Despite her tendency to paint in childhood, she chose dance as a means of her artistic expression. She had to get out of the dancer’s life after being physically injured in a sudden accident. But it could not strain her from the creative pursuit, and she looked forward to new mediums of painting for her expression. It is not easy to establish one as a painter beyond the traditional institutions of painting. As a result, she had to complete diverse preparations inside and outside to extend herself. She began her art schooling from the eminent artist Ashit Paul then she immersed herself into the world of painting. Art is very much like meditation to Rupali. For more than a decade, she has been trying to create her own style of Art.

How Rabindranath possessed all the Bengali people, she was also no exception, especially for Rabindranath’s painting. We will feel the influence of Tagore’s colors and shapes at her images. Recently she drew a series of pictures in the title Durga. By accumulating its own expression to the traditional folk line and shape, Rupali has added a new dimension to the works titled Durga. In the field of drawing, her favorite medium is ink-pen, but she also works with earth-color and acrylic with the same ease.
