Memoir of prominent physician, actor and social worker Mr. A. B. M. Nurol Alam ‘Otit Jakhan Mukhor Songi’ was unveiled on Friday, November 29, 2019. Poet and Journalist Mr. Abul Momen, Playwright Mr. Sishir Dutta, Managing Editor of Daily Azadi Mr. Wahid Malek, Writer Ferdous Ara Alim, Actress Geeta Rudra, Executive Director of CODEC Dr. Khurshid Alam, Educationist Iftekhar Alam, Poet Swapan Dutt and Poet Muin Parvez.


This memoir, which contains many historical and rare photographs, deals with various films, drama movements and almost forgotten actors of Chittagong in the sixties and seventies. But apart these, the liberation war of 1971 have come up in the memoirs of Nurul Alam. The speakers also highlighted the importance of such memoirs and said that the book deserves to be considered as an important document for reading the society and history of Chittagong.


A welcome speech at the event delivers by Mr. Moinul Alam, who is the youngest son of Mr. A B M Nurol Alam, who (Mr. Moinul Alam) also is a prominent photographer and coordinator of Chitrobhasha Gallery. Poet and Journalist Mr. Abul Momen said that the book contains a lot of information about the culture of a Muslim family, including family and social life. As a result, the book can be judged and analyzed from the point of view of sociology.
Writer Ferdous Ara Alim praises the moderation in the prose style and language used in the memoirs. Other commentators said that although he was a physician, he was an artist in real life. The new generation can be inspired by the image of human service that emerged in Chittagong at that time in contrast to the current luxury society.
