Chittagong City is not only the principal city of the district of Chittagong but also the second largest city of Bangladesh. It is situated within 22°14′ and 22°24′ N Latitude and between 91°46′ and 91°53′ E Longitude and on the Right Bank of the river Karnafuli. Historians have given various explanations as to the origin of the name Chittagong. Bernoli in his Description Historique et Geographic de L’Inde (1786) explains that the name Chittagong came from the Arabic word Shat (delta) prefixed to Ganga (Ganges), indicating the city at the mouth of the Ganges. The district received the name ‘Chittagong’ from the city.
‘Chitrobhasha’ is an independent gallery for Art and Culture. This gallery is welcoming different type of art and cultural creation with multi-medium. It is a non-profit organization to serve flourishing cultural diversity to home and abroad. This gallery is established in 2017 and from then the gallery is organizing and continuing art shows.
Step through our door in the highway and you will be on a journey of discovery. Inside the Gallery, you will find interlaced spaces and changing displays of contemporary art to browse. You can also treat yourself to a leisurely view of our boutique interior design.
Chitrobhasha Art Gallery is internationally recognized for courageous and inspiring exhibitions, for strident the boundaries of contemporary art and culture, and for being the first to premiere new works by established and emerging artists. Through individual experiences with art, we inspire visitors to upend their expectations and discover surprising connections.
With an objective of taking art to the public, ‘Chitrobhasha’ proactively reaches out to diverse audiences, offering them engaging and meaningful ways of understanding and experiencing art showcased in its exhibitions. The pleasure of visual aesthetics apart, art also fosters dialogue and engagement on important issues, be they social, political or historical. And, as such, the art gallery space becomes a vital platform.
Rent The Gallery
Chitrobhasha Gallery is having an exhibition space of 3000 sq ft which is set in the heart of the city.
The gallery is also containing two open spaces where people can get fresh air and chit-chat during the period of any exhibition. The rent of the gallery is BDT. 5000 per day.
(10am-6pm.).
Payment
Half of the booking amount must be paid at the time of booking the exhibition to reserve the exhibition dates until the balance is settled.
To secure dates, the full balance must be paid in full one day before the exhibition. A security deposit of BDT. 10000 will be required at the time of booking the Gallery. All security deposits are refundable in full on successful full installment of the contract. Any payment by cheque should be made in the name of Purba.

Before 1 month – 50% of deposit
Before less than one month – no refund
Terms & Condition
1. Chitrobhasha Gallery reserves the right
to deny the use of its gallery to any artist
or group of artists if it does not consider
them suitable for any reason.
2. No artist shall be allowed to remain in the
Gallery before or after the specified
timing except with prior permission.
3. Only neatly designed posters shall be
allowed for display outside the gallery.
4. Banners of large sizes can not be
displayed.
5. Chitrobhasha Gallery takes no responsibility on providing staff during the exhibition period.
6. Gallery timings are 10am – 6pm. If any
Extension of timing is required it needs to
be scheduled earlier. Extension beyond 4
hrs is chargeable.
7. The applicant shall not use any adhesive
(e.g. cello tape, drawing pins, nails etc) on
the walls and pedestals of the gallery.
Any damage to the property will be deducted from the refundable deposit.
